Brownies... 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2 cup cocoa 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup flour Easy...put all in a bowl and mix by hand. Optional - stir in walnuts or chocolate chips. Spread into a greased 8"x8" pan. Bake 350º for 33 minutes. This recipe can be doubled and baked in a 9 x 13 cake pan. Hint: These brownies are delicious just the way they are but to make them more special, sprinkle a few chocolate chips around on top before baking.
Pudding... 1/3 cup sugar (for chocolate use 1/2 cup sugar and 3 Tbs cocoa powder) 1/4 cup cornstarch 1/8 tsp salt 2 3/4 milk Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in milk. Gently stir and cook over medium-low heat until it comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in 2 Tbs butter and 1 tsp pure vanilla (not imitation vanilla!). Cool before serving. This pudding is even better if you let it rest in the refrigerator overnight. Hint: I usually omit the butter for a lower calorie dessert.
